API Terms of Use

These terms supplement the Terms of Service and apply to use of the AMLConsensus API. By using the API you accept these terms.

1. Access & keys

• Access is by an API key tied to your account, passed in the X-API-Key header.
• The key is confidential. You are responsible for storing it and for all requests made with your key.
• A compromised key should be revoked immediately in the dashboard and replaced.

2. Limits & billing

• Each check deducts 1 unit from the account's shared balance. Incomplete data (when a source is unavailable) is not charged.
• Reasonable rate limits may apply to protect the service from overload.
• Payment and refunds — per the Terms of Service.

3. Acceptable use

• You may not resell, sublicense or publish raw API data as a standalone product without our written consent.
• You may not use the API to facilitate illegal activity, sanctions evasion or infringement of third-party rights.
• No attempts to bypass limits, reverse-engineer, or perform bulk scraping beyond agreed volumes.

4. Accuracy & no warranty

The API provides a probabilistic risk assessment based on third-party data (sanctions lists, screening providers, on-chain labels) and public blockchain data, which may be incomplete or outdated. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of availability, accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. A verdict is not an accusation, nor legal or financial advice; decisions based on it are your responsibility.

5. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, abuse, or threats to service stability, with prior notice where reasonably possible.

6. Data

Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy. If you submit addresses relating to your own customers via the API, our Data Processing Agreement (DPA) applies.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; the current version is published on this page.
