Every customer asks an exchanger this — out loud or silently. Until now there was nothing to answer with: anyone can say "we screen", and nobody can show it.
So we made a badge you can put on your site: "Addresses screened with AMLConsensus". It links to a page that spells out what that actually means, so the customer does not have to guess.
It is a statement about the service's own process: incoming and outgoing addresses are screened before the deal. No more than that.
This part matters more. The badge is not our certification of the exchanger. We do not vet the platform itself, we do not vouch for its solvency, and we do not promise that no tainted coin will ever pass.
Screening lowers the risk; it does not remove it. Claiming otherwise would be a lie, and we would rather be believed in the cases where we do assert something.
One condition: the screening has to actually happen — through the bot, the website or the API. If you stop screening, take the badge down. That is not a formality: a badge with nothing behind it damages trust more than no badge at all.
Look at it from your customer's side. They are handing money to someone they do not know, and all they have is your word. A visible screening process takes part of that tension away before they ever message support.
The second reason is practical. Sooner or later a partner or an exchange writes: "how exactly did you screen this address?" That question is answered by a screening log, not by a badge. A log cannot be reconstructed after the fact — which is why it has to start now, not when someone asks.
