The “Addresses screened with AMLConsensus” badge

What it means — and what it does not

The badge is a statement about the service’s own process: “we screen incoming and outgoing addresses”. It answers the question a customer will ask anyway: do you look at where the coins came from?

The badge is not our certification or audit of the platform. We do not vet the exchanger itself, we do not vouch for its solvency, and we do not promise that no tainted coin will ever pass. Screening lowers the risk; it does not remove it, and claiming otherwise would be a lie.

Who may display it

• Exchangers and P2P services that screen counterparty addresses before a deal.
• Merchants and services accepting crypto payments.
• Escrow agents and deal arbiters.

One condition: the screening has to actually happen — via the bot, the website or the API. If you stop screening, take the badge down.

How to embed it

How to connect the screening itself

• Manually — through @amlconsensus_bot or the website. Fine when the deal flow is small.
• Automatically — through the API: the address is submitted at the moment of the deal and the verdict comes back in seconds. Terms are on the partners page.
• With a screening log — the compliance pack for exchangers: policy, the log itself, a freeze procedure and letter templates. The log is what answers a partner’s question “how exactly did you screen?”. It cannot be reconstructed after the fact.
