A new wallet is empty. To send USDT from it on Ethereum or TRON, it needs the network's coin to pay the fee — "gas". So someone had to send it first. That first transfer is one of the most telling details in a wallet's history.
Scammers love new wallets: they have no history, so the check looks "clean". But they usually fund the gas from their own old addresses. The first funding shows where a two-day-old wallet really comes from.
Don't draw a conclusion from one sign alone. A fresh wallet funded by someone else's address is a reason to look closer, not a verdict. Look at everything together: age, first funding, where the main money came from.
The AMLConsensus full check has a "First funded (gas) by" line — you can check that address separately right away.
